Hellfire Short Film Festival Round Five Winners Are Announced

Wednesday 25th January saw the return of the Hellfire Short Film Festival and what a night it was! A great selection of nine short films ranging from horror and sci-fi to drama and comedy ensured a truly mixed bag of quality productions.

After a long break due to the festive season and a refurb of the venue Hellfire Short Film Festival returned with a bang. Making up the playlist were (in order of appearance):

‘The Prologue’ by Andy Kastelic
‘My Life Is A Dream’ by Brian Benson
‘Monster In My Closet’ by Patrick Chase Darwin
‘The Broken Places’ by Andrew S. Ritchie
‘Hangman’ by Joseph Colby Doler
‘Spaceman’ by Adam Spinks
‘Timed Expectancy’ by Riccardo Pittaluga
‘Might’ by Emil Sallinen
‘Infinite’ by Connor O’Hara

After each short film was screened the audience voted on six categories, Director, Acting, Editing, Story/Script, Visuals and Soundtrack. Each category was to be given a score out of five with the totals added up to give the overall score out of 30.

And the winners, yes that’s plural, with scores of 21.75 out of 30 are:

‘Spaceman’ by Adam Spinks and ‘Might’ by Emil Sallinen.

In third place and joining the Wildcard table is: ‘Infinite’ by Connor O’Hara. ‘Infinite’ with a score of 21.6 just missed out on joining the winners.

The two winners will now automatically go through to the Grand Final to be held later in the year, date TBA. ‘Infinite’ takes up 8th place on the Wildcard table, pushing Scott Lyus’ ‘Silently Within Your Shadow’ into 9th position.
